Step 1. Remove the Engine Side Covers, Complete Exhaust System and Instrument Cluster Assembly from the sled...

Step 2. Weld on EGT fittings to "Y" pipe. (Location is approx 2" from the header attachment flange) Notice the fittings are located to the side of pipe next to the flange. This was done due to underhood clearance issues.

If you are using clamps, you need to mount the sensors on a flat section of the "Y" pipe as a smooth surface is required for the clamp to seal. (Click here for an example)

Step 3. Drill a 3/16" hole in the pipe, through the fitting, to allow the sensor to pass through. You may need to clean out the hole a bit so the sensors compression nut can thread in smoothly.

Step 4. Install the EGT probes. Center the tip of the probe in the header tube and tighten the compression nut until the sensor is retained. Be careful not to over-tighten the nut as the compression fitting could fracture the outer case of the probe.

Step 5. Remove the EGT probes making sure you mark them for reinstallation later.

Step 6. Reinstall the "Y" pipe to the engine.

Step 7. Reinstall EGT sensors, as shown and route wires up the steering post.

Step 8. Water Temperature Sensor Installation...
Notice the location of the sensor. This is the preferred placement (#1). This location is best as to read exact engine temperatures before the thermostat. This will also allow you to see the temperature if your thermostat ever fails. Additionally, you can determine if your engine is up to temperature so as to prevent a "Cold Seize" situation.

An alternate location is in the top of the Thermostat Housing (#2). This is not a recommended location as you will not see high temperatures if the thermostat ever fails.

It may be necessary to drill and tap the head if you are running Carburetor Heaters. Thread size is 1/8" NPT (Tapered Pipe Thread). Route wire up the steering post.

Step 9. Gauge harness installation and connections. The Rev uses a DC electrical system. When ordering your gauge make sure you specify a DC harness. Attach the Digatron harness to the following wires on your sled. Digatron Orange wire to the White/Green Stripe wire located on the Speedometer connector (#3). Digatron Red wire to the Aux Power harness' Red/Yellow Stripe wire. Digatron Black wire to the Aux Power harness' (#4) Black wire. The Aux. Power harness is a three wire connector located immediately next to the Speedometer Connector. Solder all wires for a good connection. Route wire up the steering post.

Step 10. Install the Digatron Universal Mounting Bracket. Your installation may vary.

Step 11. Attach the Digatron Gauge to the Mounting Bracket

.

Step 12. Connect all wires to the back of the gauge. Notice all connectors are color keyed. Make sure you connect the EGT leads to the proper Temp 1 or Temp 2 ports as they relate to the position on your sled. (FYI... If your gauge is equipped with a Temp 3 port, you must have a Shorting plug on it. This plug will allow you to read outside air temperature. Failure to have a shorting plug WILL cause erratic readings.)

Step 13. Inspect all sensor wires for clearance from heat sources and rotating equipment. Pull the extra wiring up into the area under the Instrument Cluster and secure. Protect wiring from areas that may come in contact with the chassis. Use of plastic wiring loom material is recommended in those areas.

Step 14. Reinstall remainder of the Exhaust System, Engine Side Covers and Instrument Cluster Assembly.

Step 15. Start your engine. The gauge will automatically turn on. Follow the Users Manual for Limit and Warning Light setup.

Step 16. Install Tach Bag to protect the gauge from moisture.

Step 17. Have Fun!!!
